CURRENT STATUS AND MAIN TASKS FOR UPDATING REGULATORY PROVISIONS IN THE FIELD OF DESIGNING DRAINAGE ON IRRIGATED LANDS
- The role of land reclamation and water management in ensuring the sustainable development of agriculture
Purpose: to show the sequence of actions for calibration of an open regulator with a flooded outflow from under the gate.
Materials and methods. The regulating hydraulic structure (an open regulator with a flooded outflow from under the gate) on a drainage canal, which is used to regulate flow rates and levels is considered. The main stages of performing actions during its calibration are used.
Results. Based on the analysis of general requirements for performing calibration of regulating waterworks (set out in the developed regulatory document of the Russian Scientific Research Institute of Land Improvement Problems), the main stages of performing actions during calibration of an open water outlet regulator with a flooded outflow from under the gate are identified and formulated. The sequence of the formulated main stages of performing actions during calibration is as follows: inspection of the waterworks and its technical documentation; equipping with measuring instruments; determining the parameters of the opening and the sill mark; checking the flooding conditions; organizing and conducting water flow measurements on the diversion section of the canal; determining the water flow coefficient; determining the flow dependence on the flow coefficient, level difference, and gate opening value; plotting a curve of dependence on the level difference; compiling a worksheet. As a result of the analysis of the main stages of performing actions during calibration, an algorithm for determining the volume of water passing through an open regulator with a flooded outflow from under the gate depending on the level difference in the upper and lower pools was developed.
Conclusions. The formulated stages of performing actions during calibration of an open regulator with a flooded outflow from under the gate and the developed algorithm for determining the volume of water passing through an open regulator depending on the level difference will contribute to the efficiency of calibration of this structure and the organization of water metering on reclamation system.
