CURRENT STATUS AND MAIN TASKS FOR UPDATING REGULATORY PROVISIONS IN THE FIELD OF DESIGNING DRAINAGE ON IRRIGATED LANDS
- The role of land reclamation and water management in ensuring the sustainable development of agriculture
Purpose: to study the effectiveness of various methods of spraying potato during drip irrigation at different stages of its growth in the Lower Volga region.
Materials and methods. The experiment was carried out in accordance with the methodology of field experience (B. A. Dospekhov). As part of the field two-factor experiment, research was conducted on the experimental plot of the Research Institute of Fundamental and Applied Agricultural Technologies at the Volgograd State Agrarian University.
Results. A new method of strip spraying is proposed. It involves spraying plants with counter-flows of the working solution to reduce consumption and lower costs. The key element of this technology is the band application of plant protection and nutrition means using special slot sprayers. These sprayers, with a spray angle of 65° to 80°, ensure uniform distribution of the working fluid across the entire width of the cultivated strip. Strip spraying takes into account the phase of plant development, which ensures a more accurate and effective impact on pests and diseases. Field studies conducted to implement the developed method and optimize potato treatment revealed a significant improvement in quality when using the strip spraying method with directed lateral spraying. This approach ensures full vegetative plant growth, fully consistent with the planned growth schedule.
Conclusions. The use of a strip spraying method contributes to the redistribution of plant protection and food agents from row-spacing to crop plants rows. Strip tillage allows reducing the application rate of the working solution, without changing the application norms at the processing object.
