Purpose: to assess the current state of the reclamation complex of the North Caucasus Federal District.
Discussion. During the study, distribution indicators of state hydroreclamation (water management) systems and state owned separately located hydraulic structures (HS) on water bodies in the context of federal district were considered and analyzed, and an analysis of the technical condition of HS of the North Caucasus Federal District 4th class of wear, was carried out and examined with the specialists from Rostechnadzor. Based on the results, it was determined that with a relatively small share of state hydro-reclamation (water management) systems located in the North Caucasus Federal District (6 %), the share of hydraulic structures included in the irrigation water management systems of this region is more than a third of the total amount in Russia. 84 % of hydraulic structures are used for agriculture, which indicates the direct use of reclamation complex structures for their intended purpose.
Conclusions. With the participation of Rostekhnadzor specialists, only 14 % of hydraulic structures the wear of which is 75 % or more, were examined, but almost 90 % of them are in working technical condition, which indicates regular repair work and timely monitoring of hydraulic structures carried out by operating organizations for land reclamation in the North Caucasus Federal District.
