CURRENT STATUS AND MAIN TASKS FOR UPDATING REGULATORY PROVISIONS IN THE FIELD OF DESIGNING DRAINAGE ON IRRIGATED LANDS
- The role of land reclamation and water management in ensuring the sustainable development of agriculture
Purpose: to describe the features of preparing the initial data for developing a hydrodynamic model and to analyze simulation results of the Maly Tegin River section.
Materials and methods. The model of the 15.5 km long Maly Tegin River section was developed using the MIKE software package. The procedure for developing the model involves introducing morphometric, hydrological and hydrodynamic parameters of the modeling object. The model was developed to determine the boundaries of flood zones during the passage of high flow of rare frequency; therefore, cross-sections of both the channel and floodplain parts which reflect the characteristic sections of the river were used. The hydrological parameters were specified as runoff hydrographs of varying probability (1; 3; 5; 10; 25 %) at points (at the beginning of the section) and distributed along the entire length of the section. At the end of the section, the water level of the corresponding probability was specified.
Results. As a result of simulation, the hydraulic parameters of the flow, maximum water levels, flow velocities, water discharges and their dynamics along the entire length of the modeled section for the specified exceedance probabilities were determined in each section. It was found, that the maximum values of the flow velocity fluctuate in the range from 3.88 to 3.68 m/s, water discharge – from 418.69 to 51.09 cubic meters.
Conclusions. In the study, using the example of a model of the Maly Tegin River section, the features of setting morphometric and hydrological initial data in the development of a computer model of the watercourse are considered. The results of scenario studies of the passage of maximum flows of rare frequency on the model of the Maly Tegin River section were obtained, which are of practical interest and can be used to solve survey problems on unexplored watercourses, including designing reservoirs for irrigation.
