Annotation

Purpose: to assess the strength, stability and operational reliability of the reclamation system structures for further determination of the reconstruction volume based on the study of the technical condition of hydraulic structures, including main pipelines, canals, spillways and outlet structures. 

Materials and methods. The reclamation system was put into operation 40 years ago, and during its operation it has never been repaired. As a result of significant wear of the structures, canals and main pipeline, the unproductive expenses of irrigation water have increased. To determine the condition of the systems, a visual and instrumental inspection was performed. Visual inspection includes identification of the condition of slopes and ridge, and instrumental inspection determines strength and deformation characteristics of soils. 

Results. At the time of the study, there is no unacceptable risk associated with harm to life or health of citizens, property of individuals or legal entities, state or municipal property, the environment, due to the damage or loss of stability of structures or their parts. At the same time, the recorded defects significantly reduce the efficiency of the reclamation system canals.

Conclusions. A comprehensive assessment of technical data identified the areas in need of urgent restoration, modernization, and determined the key aspects of the operational process. The conducted studies substantiated the need to implement a set of measures to reconstruct the reclamation system, namely: clearing and sealing joints and cracks in reinforced concrete and concrete structures with cement mortars, polymer components and adhesives; eliminating leaks in the main and steel pipelines; cleaning canals from vegetation; restoring the design profile and slope of water pipelines. These measures are aimed at the rational use of water reserves and maintaining a favorable environmental situation in the region.
