CURRENT STATUS AND MAIN TASKS FOR UPDATING REGULATORY PROVISIONS IN THE FIELD OF DESIGNING DRAINAGE ON IRRIGATED LANDS
- The role of land reclamation and water management in ensuring the sustainable development of agriculture
Purpose: to develop proposals for refining and improving the methods for calculating the water requirement standards for agricultural crops in order to adjust certain provisions of GOST R.
Materials and methods. The generally accepted methods of N. N. Ivanov and N. I. Danilchenko to calculate the water consumption and evapotranspiration of plants by growth periods were used, and the methods of analysis and synthesis were used to develop proposals for refining the water requirement standards.
Results and discussion. Due to the need to update GOST R 58331.3-2019, studies to improve the accuracy of determining the water requirement standards for agricultural crops with different irrigation methods were conducted and proposals were prepared, including the need to provide calculations of the relationship between the water requirement standards of crops and evaporation, rather than with the heat summation for the estimated period. Introduce new crops to the GOST appendices – cotton and soybeans – with calculated water requirement standards by regions and depending on the annual precipitation. Add correction factors for water requirement standards on irrigation methods – surface irrigation (furrows and strips), drip irrigation (surface and subsurface, subsoil), and water loss coefficients for these irrigation methods compared to sprinkling.
Conclusions. Introducing amendments to the new GOST version will allow for a more precise water requirement standards in relation to the evaporation rate of the area and plant evapotranspiration. It will also improve the accuracy of water requirement standards for crops by introducing clarifying coefficients for water requirement standards and water loss coefficients for various irrigation methods. This will allow for a reasonable reduction in water requirement standards and ensure water conservation in irrigated agriculture by 10–15 %.
