Annotation

Purpose: to study the effect of the growth bioregulator Novosil on the development and productivity of sugar beet on irrigated lands of the Rostov Region. 

Materials and methods. Field studies were conducted in 2025. The experimental design included the following options: seed treatment (ST), foliar treatment (FOT), seed treatment + foliar treatment, and control (water treatment). The experiments were conducted in accordance with generally accepted methods, taking into account zonal characteristics. 

Results. It was found that treatment with the growth regulator Novosil affects the increase in leaf area duration, green top mass, root mass, and productivity of sugar beet. The maximum values of leaf area duration (LA) and green tops weight were recorded at the leaf closure phase in the inter-row spaces with the combined effect of ST + FOT – 72.14 thousand m²/ha and 585.51 g, which is 5.1 and 8.6 % higher than the control, respectively. The best results in terms of root crop weight at biological maturity were achieved with the same variant: 1215.1 g, which is 4.7 % higher than the control. In terms of yield, sugar content, and biological sugar collection, the influence of treatment with the bioregulator was noted in all variants compared to the control. However, the combined effect of seed and foliar treatment at the leaf closure phase in a row contributed to obtaining the highest values for these indicators: 106.2 t/ha, 19.1 %, and 20.3 t/ha, respectively.

Conclusions. The use of the Novosil growth bioregulator in irrigated sugar beet cultivation has a positive effect on crop development, especially in combination with seed treatment and foliar application.
