Purpose: to study a new method of heavy soils leaching in Southern Tajikistan.

Materials. The studies were conducted on experimental plots of the Shartuz district of southern Tajikistan in accordance with generally accepted techniques, in particular, using the B. A. Dospekhov method.

Results. The results of field experiments showed that the use of a new method of saline heavy soils leaching, based on deep loosening, provides more favorable conditions for cotton growth. Before the experiments, the soils of the plot were classified as moderately saline. After leaching and subsequent monitoring the salt regime, a decrease in the degree of salinity to weak was established. According to biometric indicators (plant height – up to 97 cm, number of flowers – up to 18 pcs.), with this leaching method, a significant excess of these indicators was established compared to the control variant by 20 and 100 %, respectively. The cotton yield after the new leaching method was 29 c/ha, which is 6.0 c/ha higher than the control.

Conclusions. The use of soil leaching technology with deep loosening can significantly reduce soil salinity and increase cotton productivity.
